Toggle and Rocker Switch Capability Schematics

Single Pole, Single Throw (SPST)
Switch controls a single wire circuit.

 

Single Pole, Double Throw (SPDT)
Switch controls two single wire circuits, permitting only one circuit to be energised at a time.

 

Single Pole, Double Throw (SPDT)
Switch controls two single wire circuits, permitting only one circuit to be energised at a time.

 

Double Pole, Single Throw (DPST)
Switch controls two circuits simultaneously. Circuits are ON at the same time, OFF at the same time, and may be of different voltages from different sources.

Double Pole, Double Throw (DPDT)
Switch controls two circuits, permitting only two circuits to be energised at a time.

Toggle and Rocker Switch Terminals

Standard Screw Terminals
For bare wire or terminal connections.

Base screw and terminal, 6-32 thread. For switches with plastic housings.

Plated steel screw, lockwasher and terminal. For switches with die-cast housings.

Standard Male Blade Terminals
Mate with standard female blade connectors.

Brass terminal. For all switches except dual wide body, single narrow bodied and pilot lights.

Copper terminal. For dual wide body, single narrow bodied and pilot lights.
